Is Christianity Good for the World?

  1. It is simply another irrelevant argument posed by non-believers of all stripes. They always hit around issues like “Why is there evil?”, “Why are there so many Christian hypocrites?”, “Why has belief in God resulted in so many bad things?”, etc. These questions have absolutely nothing to do with the question of God’s existence, but are merely objections to the way He runs things.

They are quick to point out issues that we are supposed to apologize for, like the Spanish Inquisition, but they won’t apologize for Stalin, Hitler, and Pol Pot, the outstanding leaders of atheism in the 20th Century.

  2. Tell me PL, Have you read Ravi Zacharias’ book “Can Man Live Without God?” This is an excellent resource for this topic.

  3. Everyone has a worldview, and those ideas influence the way we look at the world. Islam has made 6th century Arabia the ideal, and they’re not able to progress, and we see the results in they way they live. Hindus can starve to death while cows wander down the street. As Puritan Lad pointed out, an atheistic worldview leads to disrespect for human life.

You can test the Bible the same way you would test an automotive manual. The manual says to set the gaps on the plugs to a certain distance, and you follow the advice. If the car stops functioning properly, you know the manual is bogus.

So many great scientists were great Christians. They sought only to think God’s thoughts after Him. The founders of this nation applied the Bible to the founding of a country, and we’re still reaping the benefits. Christians are responsible for the founding of a lot of universities and charities.

Christ is the best thing that’s ever happened to this world.
