Church’s decision to endorse the sin of homosexuality is an act of apostasy
The decision by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) to ‘refrain from or demonstrate restraint’ in disciplining homosexual clergy in faithful committed same-gender relationships has been described as an act of apostasy by America’s largest public policy women organisation.

These people should take the Lutheran name, Evangelical name, and the Church name off their title. Martin Luther would turn over in his grave. This is not Evangelical for it is not “good” news they are holding to… these people are simply patting people on the back as they traverse into the pits of Hell. This is not a Church, for when an assembly adopts doctrines of Demons they have invited the Devil to sup with them. May God have mercy on their pitiful souls. May the True Evangelical Church under Christ pray for these who reject His commands.

i agree that homosexuality is wrong, but dont you think you could say it in a little nicer tone? i hear a lot of truth and little love. i tried (and may of failed) to do this at http://merehumanity.wordpress.com/2007/08/27/elca-and-homosexual-ministers/.
i am just trying to spur and encourage a brother, not criticize.

SAVED BY GRACE
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them {Leviticus 20:13).
About 3 years ago I dropped into a black hole – four months of absolute terror. I wanted to end my life, but somehow [Holy Spirit], I reached out to a friend who took me to hospital. I had three visits [hospital] in four months – I actually thought I was in hell. I imagine I was going through some sort of metamorphosis [mental, physical & spiritual]. I had been seeing a therapist [1994] on a regular basis, up until this point in time. I actually thought I would be locked away – but the hospital staff was very supportive [I had no control over my process]. I was released from hospital 16th September 2004, but my fear, pain & shame had only subsided a little. I remember this particular morning waking up [home] & my process would start up again [fear, pain, & shame]. No one could help me, not even my therapist [I was terrified]. I asked Jesus Christ to have mercy on me & forgive me my sins. Slowly, all my fear has dissipated & I believe Jesus delivered me from my “psychological prison.” I am a practicing Catholic & the Holy Spirit is my friend & strength; every day since then has been a joy & blessing. I deserve to go to hell for the life I have led, but Jesus through His sacrifice on the cross, delivered me from my inequities. John 3: 8, John 15: 26, are verses I can relate to, organically. He’s a real person who is with me all the time. I have so much joy & peace in my life, today, after a childhood spent in orphanages . God LOVES me so much. Fear, pain, & shame, are no longer my constant companions. I just wanted to share my experience with you [Luke 8: 16 – 17].
PEACE BE WITH YOU

First, Micky thank you for your testimony. I pray that you will grow in the Spirit. I pray that you will read the Word of God and be changed daily by it. I pray that you will fear God, love your brother and follow after Christ and His commands. I pray that nothing in this world will ever satisfy you like the Bread of Life. I appreciate you and the future walk you are going to be on. Remember this, that the Child of God is no longer at enmity with God and that you are justified by Faith alone, not rote ritual, not confession, not sacrament, nothing but Sola Fide! God be with you.

Second PB&J…
Christ is the One who called the religious leaders of His day vipers, white washed tombs, blind and dead.
Christ is the One who walked into the Temple with a nine foot whip and slung it around at the money changers because they made the Father’s House a den of thieves.
These religious leaders make Christ’s Bride a House of Whoredom.
Is my tone similar to Christ’s? Was Jesus wrong for His zeal for the Kingdom of God?
I try my best to emulate Him who bought me.
You said, “i hear a lot of truth and little love.” First to this is that my love is for the reputation of Jesus. These religious leaders who parade themselves to be Christian are not… they have simply taken the title. They are white washed tombs. They are proud people who are walking into destruction and taking people with them through their false leadership. They are false shepherds, false prophets, they are false. The Apostle Paul would call them wolves.
Second, I would not do this to one who is in the world for I expect the world to behave as the world behaves, but these men/women are apostates. They are in Christian leadership and must be brought to account. One who listens to a rebuke and heeds it is blessed and wise.
Third, I feel my rebuke was very loving. Is it wrong to be righteously indignant? Is it wrong to set someone straight with firmness and firm words? I merely alluded to portions of New Testament passages that say the same things. Is the New Testament’s tone or choice of words incorrect? Is it loving to let someone and others keep traversing toward destruction and the final judgment of God who will pour out His wrath on them if they do not repent? God is loving and He is also wrathful. Do not think that there is no love behind those words I wrote. I wrote assuredly of love in that statement. The last two sentences state: “May God have mercy on their pitiful souls. May the True Evangelical Church under Christ pray for these who reject His commands.” I meant every word of this. There is much love, for their future eternity is imminent and their judgment is sure if they fail to repent and follow after Christ. If they love Him they will obey Him (John 14).
I pity these men just as I said. I long for them to repent and believe. But as Paul handed Hymanaeus over to Satan, so shall we… not for destruction but so that they will feel the terror of God’s judgment in this life that their suffering may lead to repentance. And if they believe on Christ and repent, they will be saved.
Again, pray for them.

Love means keeping God’s Commandments. Love does not mean that the church tolerates repeated sinful behavior, and it certainly doesn’t mean that the church should endorse it. Paul knew something about God’s Love. What would one think about Paul’s instructions to the Corinthians in 1 Corinthians 5:1-12? This was a true expression of Godly love, love for the bride of Christ to keep her pure.

thanks for responding. i think you made a great pt. there is no question that Christ had righteous indignation. but it was only in regard to those who called themselves “religious” (ie Pharisees or Temple). so in this sense, i think you may have been justified in being critical. but i guess what came across to me as a little over harsh was the statement, “This is not a Church, for when an assembly adopts doctrines of Demons they have invited the Devil to sup with them. May God have mercy on their pitiful souls.”
it sounds like you are damning all members for what the leadership decided. i am sure this is not be your intent, but that is how it came across to me. thanks for the clarification, and just so you know, i agree that we must stand for the truth in the church, but even Jesus told the disciples to obey the Pharisees (even though he gave them such criticism). plus, one has to remember many of the Pharisees would have agreed with Jesus on his Torah teaching. because many of the Pharisees were followers of Rabbi Hillel who taught many of the same things as Jesus. in fact, Jesus seems to quote him quite often (you can see some examples at http://merehumanity.wordpress.com/book/rabbi/jesus-the-rabbi/).
again, thanks for the clarification.
