Seminary training is very important if you are wanting to join more of an official ministry position, but I even know of some Assoc Pastor’s who don’t have official training and are men of the Bible. Knowing the Bible is what counts and the cool thing is it is written for all ages and intelligence levels. So while some might not be able to afford seminary, we have no excuses for not studying the Bible.
