    Outstanding stuff. Thomas Brooks’ Precious Remedies Against Satan’s Devices is a masterpiece.

    I would add one more. The Puritans worldview was purely biblical, untainted by modern pop-psychology. William James and Sigmund Freud had no clue as to the cause and effect of human behaviour. It’s a shame that so much that passes for “biblical counseling” tends to focus on the latter.
