Why Is Tebow Hated So Much?

October 27, 2011

It should be impossible for anyone to dislike Tebow, the person. He tweets individual fans to thank them for coming to his book signings, he takes Special Olympics participants to rock concerts, and is deeply involved with the foundation that wears his name, the one that raises money for orphanages and pediatric cancer centers. So what does he get in return? A @WhyTebowSucks twitter account, infrequently updated websites such as and and an Official “I Hate Tim Tebow” Facebook page.

I agree. That is what is wrong with the world and the media behind it all.

He is a great person that we should all strive to be like!!!!

the problem with Tim Tebow is that he attributes winning meaningless football games to Jesus Christ when kids in Leukemia centers wishes he would help them out a little. Hmmm what makes Tim Tebow so special?

My view about the matter is: Why worry about what the world thinks about us? First, Jesus made it clear that those who hate Him will hate those who follow Him. Second, our main concern should be how God views us, not how fellow humans view us. I’m not saying that we should ignore what others think about us, but rather, that pleasing God should take precedence over seeking approval from others.

Personally, I like Tebow. But the Steelers are going to crush him next week. Gonna be ugly.

If a sparrow cannot fall to the ground apart from the Father in heaven, we should recognize that there is nothing (not even a bird that dies) that is meaningless in this world. Football may be down on the spectrum of importance, just like a sparrow… but how one plays the game is important. What does Tebow do in regards to the talents the Lord has given him compared to what others do? Tebow recognizes that it is God who gives him these talents to perform and the winning or losing is of no consequence. The reaction of Tebow is important. Is it about him or the One who gave him athletic ability?!! I think it is a poor comparison that you make… football and leukemia? The kids with leukemia are cared for by Christ Jesus. They are victims of Adam’s sin as all of us. We all have to endure the curse that has been placed on the world by God. However, we as well as the kids with leukemia do not have to live with this condition forever. We can come to Jesus and believe on His name and be saved. We can live in this mire for a short 5 to 50 to 80 years, and then (if we believe in Jesus), we can go and have rest with our savior for eternity. Does that not sound wonderful? You can also reject God and blame Jesus for the mire and the disease and the suffering, not realizing that it is man’s rebellion that has put us in this position. If you do this, you are full of pride and you will never be happy in Heaven where God is supreme and you will earn the justice of God… death and Hell. I pray you will be overcome by God’s grace and be saved (if you are not already) and join Tebow in glorifying God for the short life we have been given and the eternal life He offers.
